HEINE ophthalmological examination lamp

HEINE ophthalmological examination lamp

Specifications

The HEINE ophthalmic examination lamp is a device for detecting eye diseases, used to assess the pupils, cornea, and fundus, as well as for neurological tests and general vision checks.

Physicians worldwide use the HEINE examination lamp for the following procedures:

  • Diagnosis of superficial ocular pathologies
  • Assessment of light reflexes by emergency physicians
  • Examination of the anterior segment (iris, sclera, cornea), detection of foreign bodies and injuries
  • Checking the pupillary reflex after induction of anesthesia in anesthesiology, to decide on the feasibility of surgery

Compact and mobile

The examination lamp features a lightweight, ergonomic design, making it very convenient to use both in clinical settings and during field visits. It offers a high degree of mobility, enabling quality examinations anytime, anywhere.

Multiple apertures for precise diagnosis

Five different apertures - including a slit, three circular spots, and a cobalt blue filter - allow detailed corneal assessment to identify erosions, edema, and foreign bodies.

In addition to the standard large circular aperture (for initial examination and overall fundus illumination), the ophthalmic penlight also includes “medium circle” and “small circle” (for an undilated pupil), as well as a “slit” for highly precise microbiological assessments. These help reveal opacities, hemorrhages, atrophy, fine glass-like particles in the cornea and lens, localized edema, endothelial defects, and the depth of lesion areas.

Aperture focusing at a working distance of 100 mm provides optimal conditions for examination.

Bright, natural illumination

XHL xenon-halogen technology delivers bright, homogeneous light close to natural daylight, ensuring greater accuracy and comfort - especially important during prolonged examinations where lighting quality is critical. Bulb operating voltage options are 2.5 or 3.5 V.

A color rendering index (CRI) of 95 means the lamp provides highly accurate color reproduction, close to natural light - essential for correct image interpretation and clinical decision-making. The optimal color temperature of 2900-3300 K corresponds to warm white/bright white.

The device features a dust-proof housing that ensures a long service life and reliable protection of optical components - particularly important in field conditions where dust and dirt are inevitable. The instrument remains clean, simplifying disinfection.
