Dear Partners,
In line with our sustainability strategy “Protect and Reduce,” we have redesigned the hard cases for HEINE instruments with the BETA handle.
Starting from June 2025, they will gradually be equipped with a new material made from recycled plastic sourced from discarded refrigerators. Please note the color difference: the new cases are dark gray / anthracite instead of light gray.
The exterior of the case will also look different:
Old case
New case
Photos of these sets with the new storage case are available for download at this link. In June, photos of diagnostic sets with the HEINE G100 slit illumination head and the HEINE BETA 200 ophthalmoscope will be added.
Please update your marketing documentation, website, catalogs, and brochures if necessary. This applies to the following HEINE products:
Two additional changes with the transition to the new cases:
HEINE DELTA 20T sets will no longer include a copy of the “Short Course in Dermatoscopy.” A digital copy or printed copy by mail can still be ordered on the registration page here.
Otoscopes and sets will no longer be supplied with reusable funnels, but only with disposable EcoTips.
We specifically chose this type of plastic because recycling refrigerators releases HFCs and CFCs. These gases are hundreds or even thousands of times more harmful to the climate than CO2. This results in a significant CO2 saving equivalent to several tons per year.
This chart shows the additional effect. In addition to preventing harmful gases from entering the atmosphere, recycled plastic already provides CO2 savings, as there is naturally no need to produce virgin plastic.

We will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
